To ensure the physical security product you purchase will prevent forced entry, you need to consider the following:
- Is the product manufactured in steel? Aluminium grilles and rollerdoors are a weaker material that is easier to penetrate.
- Is the frame that the grille is being installed into, strong enough to withstand attack and forced entry? The weakest point of physical security is often the fixing and the frame that the grille is installed into. At Xpanda Security we always visit the site to ensure the material we are installing into will not give in under physical attack.
- Are the products recommended by insurance risk assessors?
- Are the locks installed, of superior quality and design?
- Bollards - are they going to be installed less than 1400mm apart and well concreted into the ground? Otherwise they will be easy to drive between or over.
- Does the installation company offer a 24 hour response to emergencies?
- Does the installation company specialise in physical steel security or is it an add-on product or service?
- Has the company been installing steel security for over 10 years?
- Are the fixed bars welded into the frame or are they held more loosely by the frame?
- Do they provide you with a professional written quote and have quick response and installation timescales?
